A modern take on Puccini's La bohème, Rent tells the story of artists living and surviving in New York.  This story was told with a flexible set, heightened lighting design, an immersive soundscape, and projected media that included live cameras.

The story is very powerful, and the sound design needed to reflect this.  The unique and casual answering machine message, the persisitance of a beeper signaling something important, the slamming of a jail cell, all these helped to enhance the story.
